GMIT Engineering student Simon O’Grady from Rinneen, Gort received a prestigious industry award for his academic achievement this week from the Chartered Association of Building Engineers.
After previously being delayed due to COVID-19, on Tuesday the Southern Ireland Region of CABE came to Galway to present Simon with his award for best first year student in CABE-accredited programmes in the built environment.
Simon, who is now in his second year of the GMIT Construction Management (Honours) degree programme, received the award for obtaining the highest overall grades across the seven CABE-accredited programmes.
