Sheer joy in GCS as Leaving Cert students’ hard work has paid off.
Delight and joy were in abundance this year in GCS, as our Leaving Certificate students received their results on Friday.
After months of anticipation, the relief and sheer joy of receiving exceptional results lit up the building. This year’s results were excellent with six students achieving over 600 points. For the 4th year in a row a GCS Leaving Cert student has achieved 625 points. A special word of mention goes to Aoife Leahy who achieved 7 H1 grades. Overall 18.5% of our Leaving Cert students achieved over 500 points which was a remarkable achievement.
Mr. Crossan, school principal stated that he was ‘very proud, but not a bit surprised’ by the results, as GCS has a standing tradition of excellent results.
‘’The whole school community is very proud of them. I would like to thank all the staff, parents, and guardians who have contributed to their success,” he said.
‘ It was a difficult year for our Leaving Certificate students but we were able to adapt our teaching to support students and their own individual approach to learning. They showed great maturity and dedication. The results are outstanding, and we wish them all the very best in the next chapter of their lives’
